Bharadi Devi Temple, Anganewadi: A Spiritual Gem of Konkan

Tucked away in the serene village of Anganewadi, Masure, just 10 km from Malvan in Maharashtra’s Konkan region, the Bharadi Devi Temple is a revered Jagrut Devasthan (awakened deity) known for its wish-fulfilling powers. Dedicated to Goddess Bharadi, named after the rocky soil (Bharad) where a sacred stone plaque appeared 400 years ago, this temple draws lakhs of devotees annually. The annual Anganewadi Jatra, held in February, is a vibrant fair featuring music, bhajans, and Mahaprasad, attracting visitors from across Maharashtra and beyond.

Built in the Nagara style with a spacious courtyard, the temple is managed by the Angane family, reflecting the hamlet’s dominant surname.
